PROTECTION OF VULNERABLE ADULTS (POVA) COURSE

Course Aims

  1. To make the candidates aware of who might be vulnerable.
  2. To identify what type of abuse may be occurring amd how the candidates can help.
  3. To whom abuse should be report.
Comprehensive notes are provided on completion of the course.
This course in interactive and the content may cause some distress.
It is necessary for all matters discussed to be treated in the strictest confidence, and only within the confines of this course.
Upon successful completion of the course a Protection of Vulnerable Adults (POVA) attendance certificate will be awarded.

Course Content

This course covers the following:
  • Types of abuse.
  • Signs and symptoms of abuse.
  • What can be done about abuse.
  • Who to report to.
  • The consequences of reporting abuse.
  • What needs to be recorded, who should see it, and where it must be kept.

Course duration: about 2 hours.
This course is delivered in house or as an open course.
